Scuba diver dies investigating the Sea Diamond 7/10/2007

SANTORINI, Greece (7 Oct 2007)
A man died while scuba diving at the wreck of the Sea Diamond cruise ship.
The unidentified man, 44, was working with a team of divers to gather evidence for a judicial investigation into what cause the cruise ship to sink in April .
Authorities said the diver ascended too quickly and surfaced with decompression sickness.
The victim was rushed to the Santorini health clinic where he was pronounced dead.
The Sea Diamon hit a charted reef and sank to a depth of 140 meters off the Greek island of Santorini.
Some 1,600 passengers -- mostly American tourists -- and crew were safely evacuated but two French passengers were never found and are presumed dead.
The captain and five officers were charged with negligence, breaching international shipping safety regulations and marine pollution.
